Eight O'Clock Theatre is seeking actor/musicians to fill these roles. Although the characters' nationalities are noted, EOT doesn't require perfect accents for this production. Noted age ranges do not necessarily apply. Even though most of the characters are Czech- or Irish-born, EOT is actively seeking all ethnicities for this production.
The character Guy requires strong folk guitar skills.

The character Girl will have to learn some basic piano for a couple of specific songs.

For all other roles, EOT is seeking actors who can play an instrument at least marginally well. The instrument does not have to correspond to the character as labelled. In addition to the included instruments (piano, accordion, mandolin, guitar, bass, drums, cello, violin) EOT is eager to consider other instruments including flute, recorder, ukelele, and more.

TAMPA BAY PREMIERE! From the very first note, Once draws you in and never lets go. This emotionally captivating musical is the only show to have music that won an Academy Award, a Grammy Award, an Olivier Award, and a Tony Award. On the streets of Dublin, an Irish musician and a Czech immigrant are drawn together by their shared love of music. Over the course of one fateful week, an unexpected friendship and collaboration quickly evolves into a powerful but complicated love story, underscored by emotionally charged music. Featuring all of the magical songs from the critically acclaimed film, including the Oscar-winning Falling Slowly, this achingly beautiful, joyously uplifting show strikes an unforgettable chord in audiences and speaks to the power of music to connect us all. A show like this only comes around Once.
