In conjunction with LGBT History month and benefitting Come Out St. Pete, Eight O’Clock Theatre is proud to present this limited-engagement event: Terrence McNally’s award-winning Mothers and Sons. At turns funny and powerful, Mothers and Sons portrays a woman who has lost her son to AIDS twenty years earlier and pays an unexpected visit to the New York apartment of her late son’s partner, who is now married to another man and has a young son. Challenged to face how society has changed around her, generations collide as she revisits the past and begins to see the life her son might have led. Exceptionally timely and intensely resonant, this powerful drama explores the burden of guilt, the challenges of acceptance, and the hope for closure.

“Mothers and Sons is profound. Heartbreaking. Triumphant.” —NY Observer.
“A moving reflection on a changed America.” —Chicago Tribune
