Please prepare 16 bars of a song (in your key) that showcases your voice.
Bring sheet music; a pianist will be provided.
No acapella or recorded music.
Wear or bring proper dance attire (no sandals or flip-flops).
Bring Character/Jazz Shoes.
There may be readings from the script.
Bring a current resume and headshot if you have them.
Be prepared to provide any conflicts you may have during the rehearsal period.
We rehearse Monday-Thursday from 7:00 - 10:00 PM and
Sunday from 1:00 - 5:00 PM
All roles are unpaid.

Oscar Lindquist (Age 30-40): A nervous, anxious man whom Charity falls in love with. Must be good with physical comedy.
Vocal range: C3-F4
Nickie (Age 25-40): Dancer at the Fandango Ballroom. Wise-cracking New Yorker and one of Charity’s best friends. High-energy dance role.
Vocal range: F3-C5
Helene (Age 25-40): Dancer at the Fandango Ballroom. Sassy, vivacious,
and one of Charity’s best friends. High-energy dance role.
African-American a plus.
Vocal range: F3-C5
Vittorio Vidal (Age 35-50): A famous Italian movie star. Charismatic, sophisticated, and taken with Charity’s naivete.
Vocal range: B2-F4. Legit vocalist.
Non-dancing and may double in Ensemble.
Herman (Age 45-60): The tough, no-nonsense owner of the Fandango Ballroom.
Vocal range: E3-B4
Daddy Brubeck (Age 25-40): The enigmatic leader of the Rhythm of Life Church. Doubles in Ensemble.
Vocal range: C3-E4
Ursula March (Age 30-40): Vittorio’s fiery and temperamental girlfriend. Doubles in Ensemble.
Vocal range: Any
Carmen (Age 30-40): Dancer at the Fandango Ballroom.
Friends with Charity.
Vocal range: A3-B4
Ensemble (Ages late teen to adult): This is a physically demanding show for the ensemble. Must move well and be prepared to dance and contort body in Fosse-style.
